Sound Healing

Discover peace and harmony within

“We are slowed down sound and light waves, a walking bundle of frequencies tuned into the cosmos. We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments and our bodies are instruments through which our souls play their music”

-Albert Einstein

What to expect when experiencing a sound journey

To begin our sound healing journey I invite you to get as cosy as you can so make sure you bring with you a blanket and a pillow or cushion so that you can set yourself up for ultimate comfort in anyway that allows your body to relax.

With soothing words I will guide you with my voice to slowly begin relaxing each part of your body, helping your mind to let go of its to do list and leave behind your worries so that you can be fully present in the space.

Once you’ve settled in and I begin playing my crystal singing bowls, you’ll lose sense of the world around you as the healing vibrations, frequencies and sensations weave their magic through you and around you. My intention is to hold you in a safe and sacred space, helping you to become absorbed in a bubble of peace and receive exactly what you need to receive.

You may experience a number of different sensations including visions, emotional shifts, releasing blockages, answered questions, a connection to intuition, memory retrieval as well as physical sensations such as tingling, a floating feeling or a sense of deep relaxation. You may also experience none of these things but have the pleasure of resting in the healing sounds and vibrations!

What are the benefits of sound healing?

The sound waves that ripple out from the crystal singing bowls draw your brain waves into theta and delta states which are associated with deep relaxation. In this deeply relaxed state your body releases oxytocin (love/kindness hormone) and serotonin (happy hormone).

Your thinking mind drops away, making space to freely explore the magical space between awake and asleep. In this space you are more likely to find the answers to questions you’ve been searching for, you might also find clarity and creative ideas as well as find understanding of blockages. You will also find peace in this space and a sense of coming home to yourself here.

The body is essentially tuned back into a state of harmony and balance through the healing vibrations of sound.

Who is able to receive sound healing?

There are a few contraindications for sound healing, meaning if you have any of the following health conditions it is advised that you do not attend; pace maker, epilepsy, severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia or are in the first trimester of pregnancy.

If you have any metal plates in your body, there is a chance that you could feel some sensations around the area your plate is situated. However, it is up to you whether or not you choose to come. I have had people with hip replacements and screws who have attended without any problems. If you choose to come and notice sensations of discomfort then please feel free to leave quietly, don’t worry about disturbing anybody - your comfort is just as important as theirs.

How regularly do you meet for sound healing and do you do a monthly membership?

We meet at St B’s Hall in Yaxley on alternating Thursday evenings from 8-9pm as well as one Saturday morning each month from 10-11am. So, there are plenty opportunities for you to come and receive some frequency medicine for nervous system regulation and energetic alignment.

It costs £20 to drop in, £36 for two classes that month or £51 for all three!

Alternatively, if you wish to treat yourself to a private sound healing session at The Mindful Sanctuary you are welcome to do so. My private studio is a peaceful space where you can let go of everything you’ve been holding and feel fully supported. It’s the ultimate way to tend to your heart and come home to yourself.
